Our Team

J.R. Frenzel graduated from West Virginia University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Following a series of various managerial and sales jobs, he discovered his calling in the financial sector. In 2009, J.R. joined RBC Wealth Management in Clarksburg, WV to begin his career as an advisor. He joined a team of advisors in 2013 that moved from RBC to Oppenheimer. In order to keep up with an ever-changing financial environment, J.R. partnered with Good Life in 2019 as an independent advisor through LPL Financial. 

J.R. holds both Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. His approach to investing is one of quality over quantity, noting that one size does not fit all. He believes each individual has a unique set of goals and circumstances, and that special attention and consideration should be given to each client in order to develop the proper solution. 

J.R. was born and raised in Bridgeport, WV, where he still resides today. He was an active athlete during his school years, playing baseball and soccer. It was during high school when he met his future wife, Abbey. Together they have two children, Zane and Molly, three dogs, and three cats. Most evenings you will find J.R. on a ballfield or basketball court where he coaches various youth sports leagues in which his children participate. In his spare time, J.R. enjoys woodworking, playing guitar, and cheering on his beloved Mountaineers.

Leann Kiner is Operations Manager at Good Life Financial Advisors of West Virginia. In addition to providing support to J.R. Frenzel, she oversees administrative activities and thoroughly enjoys working with clients. Leann got her start in the financial industry after graduating from business college in 1981. In 1987, she decided to further her career by getting her Series 7 registration.
